My name is Mark Talavera. I'm a portrait and wedding photographer based in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area.
I consider myself a left-brained thinker. I'm analytical in nature and typically approach each day in a structured fashion. Studying engineering and mathematics as an undergrad only further conditioned my mind to think this way. Among the various complex thought processes that occur in my head lie several pockets of creativity yearning for attention. As photography played a more prominent role in my life, it became evident that this artistic outlet was the common denominator I needed to balance the left side of my brain with the right.
I'm fascinated with natural light and captivated by the beauty and warmth it brings my subjects. It dramatically enhances the genuine and authentic emotions I strive to capture. I predominantly shoot with film due to its ethereal and glowy look, but I always keep my digital camera close by during tricky lighting situations. I enjoy documenting organic moments that visually narrate a story, tell a poem, or ignite nostalgia.
If my work speaks to you, I'd love to chat over a cup of coffee, tea, or a nice cold glass of craft beer. Contact me for more details.
